To All Hearts that BreakĀ

I wrote this poem when I first heard about Bobbi Kristina and now she has died. May she forever rest in peace. I do not understand or know the full circumstances of what happened to her. I imagine there will be a court case to decide that. The poem was inspired by my thinking of Bobbi and her mother, and how their lives were joined together in the beginning and in the end. I think that was a way for me to ease the pain I was feeling for her and her family for her tragic loss.

To All Hearts that Break
Bobbi Kristina, Whitney and Bobby Brown

Into your arms I am arriving
To the place where I belong
Distance between us has parted
I have journeyed my way to you

Some may cry when they hear I am gone
Some may shake their heads and wonder why
They do not understand the joy I am feeling
Here in your loving arms being held so well

The pain I was feeling because I was grieving
It's a pain I will feel no more
The going on without is yesterday gone

I was not aiming to die but here I am
Crossed over to the promised land
Always hearing voices singing glory
And praising amen again and again

Please don't you cry when I'm gone
Know I am where I belong
I can't undo what I have done
Please try to forgive, forgive
And let's move on and on

Here in your arms I am sleeping
The sweetest dream I ever dreamt
The dream I have is a wondrous one
We are together as one
Never shall we be parted again

Into your arms I have arrived
To the place where I belong
Distance between us has parted
I have journeyed
Yes, I have journeyed
I have journeyed my way to you

Rest in peace all who love
Cry all the tears that you must
But remember you are blessed
And so am I...

I have journeyed my way to you

As a child, Diane Kaufman wrote in her grade school composition that when she grew up she wanted to be a "medical doctor or a medical drawer." Her passion as expressed in poetry, story, and art seeks to inspire positive transformation, to help "humanize" our life experiences, to increase our connection with each other, and bring awareness of Arts Medicine as valuable in promoting and nurturing health, healing and well being.

    Dedication:
I write this blog to express and release my thoughts and feelings, to heal myself and others. The world is full of suffering. I want to do my part to heal the despairing wound. I want to do my part to comfort the crying baby, the lost child, and the all too often hurt and hurting adult. I have named my Arts Medicine for Health & Healing blog, Poetry Baby, and she calls upon me to give voice and share her spirit: to write, create, be courageous, and most importantly, to have abiding faith in the Almighty Mystery and Power of the Universe to spin the world into loving care and compassion. Our hearts and hands can make this be so.
